Technics - Sl-1200 Mk7 Direct Drive Turntable (Silver) Silver Sl-1200Mk7eb

Technics SL-1210 MK7 DJ Turntable Default Title Technics have finally unveiled their brand new SL-1210 Mk7 direct drive turntable, a high torque turntable aimed primarily for DJ purposes. The new Mk7 model inherits the traditional design of previous SL-1210 turntables yet with enhanced reliability and durability and features a brand new coreless direct drive motor alongside a wealth of various sound-enhancing technologies. The SL-1210 Mk7 is Technics first new standard DJ turntable in nine years. The original SL-1210 direct drive turntable was first released in 1972 and instantly became a best-seller with over 3.5 million units sold, and it isn’t hard to see why thanks to the ease of use, powerful torque, and excellent durability. The SL-1210 quickly became a hit with both audiophiles and DJs helping to push DJ and electronic dance music culture into the limelight. Even to this day the SL-1210 series is still critically acclaimed by DJs worldwide. The SL-1210 Mk7 features high-quality sound reproduction keeping true to the Technics philosophy and employs a wealth of brand new technologies to give you the reliability and durability that makes Technics a well-loved brand. A new coreless motor has been developed which completely removes the iron core from the motor and effectively eliminates the root cause of cogging, a problem that causes the platter to spin unevenly. For the best amount of torque possible the gap between the coreless stator and rotor magnets has been optimised, this results in a high torque that is equal to the SL-1210 Mk5 and makes the turntable perfect for DJs. A highly sensitive statically balanced, universal S-shaped tonearm works to read the record’s groove accurately. The gimbal suspension construction tonearm features a machined housing as well as a high precision bearing that ensures an excellent tracking performance with minimal stylus jumping even when scratching. The updated platter comes with a two-layer construction that features deadening rubber on the rear surface which eliminates unwanted resonances in the aluminium die-cast platter. The exceptional vibration-damping characteristics prevent harmful vibrations from being transmitted to your records giving you a clear sound at all times. The aluminium die-cast chassis has been integrated with a special ABS glass fibre material giving you a two-layer structure that significantly reduces external vibrations while staying highly-durable and robust. A spring and rubber insulator helps provide you with optimal frequency characteristics and a high-quality sound while simultaneously eliminating external vibrations caused by high sound pressure levels. Both the power and phono terminals let you detach the cables which prevent the cables from accidentally being disconnected while you perform. Thanks to the disconnecting cable terminals maintenance of the cables is easier and if you wish you can connect your preferred phono cable. The gold-plated phono terminals minimise degradation of sound quality. The SL-1210 Mk7 is equipped with a range of enhanced features that ensures ease of use at all times. A microcomputer works alongside advanced motor control technology to offer an accurate response when utilising a variety of DJ styles such as scratching and beatmatching. Adjustable controls now allow you to adjust the starting torque and brake speed to suit your exact preferences. Three rotation speeds let you set the platter speed at 33-1/3, 45, or 78 RPM while the large pitch fader gives you the ability to finely adjust the rotation speed with settings of +/-8% or +/-16%. Thanks to the addition of a fully digital pitch control the SL-1210MK7 achieves a highly-accurate and stable rotation with the best tracking performance possible. When pressing both the start/stop button and speed selector simultaneously, you can reverse the direction of the platter. A newly designed stylus illuminator comes with a push-type structure and is equipped with a super bright and long-life white LED. The intensity and illumination area have been redeveloped to give you improved visibility of the stylus tip; this allows you to place the needle exactly where you need it, even in dark environments. The new SL-1210 Mk7 features a highly-sleek matte black body that looks professional and succinct giving you an attractive and refined appearance. This turntable keeps the original SL-1210 series button layout giving you an intuitive easy to use layout. The integrated LED lights can be set to illuminate in either red or blue which further enhances your image. High-quality sound reproduction true to the Technics philosophy Cordless Direct Drive motor achieving stable rotation and powerful torque Highly sensitive tonearm Two-layer structure platter with improved vibration damping performance High rigidity and high damping insulator for thorough shut-out of all vibrations Detachable power/phono cable terminals prevent cable disconnections Inherits and enhances the operating ease of the SL-1210 series Starting torque/brake speed adjustment function Pitch control function enables accurate and stable pitch adjustment A traditional design ideal for DJ play Reverse play function expands the breadth of DJ play styles Stylus illuminator features a highly bright and long-life LED All black design   SL-1210 MK7 Technical Specifications: General Power Supply: AC120 V, 60 Hz Power Consumption: 8W (Approx. 0.2W (Standby)) Dimensions (W x H x D): 453 x 169 x 353mm (17-27/32 × 6-21/32 × 13-29/32 inch) Weight: Approx. 9.6kg (Approx. 21.2lbs) Turntable Section Drive Method: Direct Drive Turntable Speeds: 33 1/3, 45rpm (with switch 78 rpm) Starting Torque: 0.18N・m / 1.8kg・cm (1.56 lbs-in) Build-up Characteristics: 0.7 s. from standstill to 33 1/3 rpm Wow and Flutter: 0.025% W.R.M.S.
